Like the previous title, Martha Is Dead is set in Italy, in a story that sees as a narrative background the horrors of the conflict of the second great war between Germany and the Allied forces, in the years that were leading to the final phase of liberation. I do not deny that before writing this review of Martha is DeadI needed a day off to metabolize it all.
Of course, there is no lack of interactive features that make the experience immersive, empathicbut neither do supernatural elements that push the bar towards horror and the esoteric (blood, dismemberments, deformations of parts of the body, tarot cards, and others that we will not anticipate). However, do not expect a work with survival horror features, as much as real narrative dramaof those who tell a story for deliver a message, and taking the time to do it. The story has its roots in the folklore of the beautiful country, but which does not discount in terms of rawness, with contents that could be highly disturbing for some people (for this reason the developers themselves strongly advise to play the title only to a mature audience). Development is by LKAthe same study that made us think so much and tighten our hearts with that The Town of Light that we remember well, clearly still with Luca Dalcò to head. After the excellent work done by other Italian studios in recent years, once again we return to talk about a truly deserving Italian title: it is Martha is Dead, a first-person psychological thriller with decidedly dark, horror hues.
